Summer enrichment programs can provide gains for social skills and growth in learning. Cape Cod Challenger Club is proud to offer a variety of summer enrichment programs which is a great opportunity for both children and adults. Recreation programs can provide a comparable social structure to the school setting so kids and adults alike don’t lose valuable skills over the summer months and most importantly are having fun doing it. Summer programs can also help children get out of their comfort zones, experiencing new activities with children and adults with

like disabilities. Here are some of the quality programs we are offering throughout summer. Experiences such as summer camps can boost kids' confidence and create happy and lasting memories.

Summer Recreation Program

The Challenger Club Recreation Program is open to children and young adults ages six and over with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Registration: Registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Preference is given to active participants in Cape Cod Challenger Club activities and those who have attended our school vacation and summer programs in the past. We limit the number of participants to ensure that we maintain appropriate and safe supervision ratios.

Eligibility: Participants are assessed individually and placed into groups with the appropriate amount of supervision. For the safety and well-being of everyone involved, both participants and staff, some individuals may not be appropriate for the program. If a prospective child is not a regular participant in Cape Cod Challenger Club activities, or they are new and unfamiliar to us, it is important for us to meet with them prior to registering for the program. Typical siblings are also welcome to participate!

Please note that we are unable to accept participants who are not fully toilet trained or need any assistance in the restroom or dressing. We cannot accept anyone with severe behavioral issues that may require restraint. Also, because we do not a have a full-time nurse on staff we are unable to dispense controlled medications or care for individuals with severe medical issues.

The mission of the Challenger Club is to enrich the quality of life for children and young adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities by providing them with the opportunity to participate in a variety of athletic, recreational and social activities that most often are not available to them under typical circumstances.

At Cape Cod Challenger Club, challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
